Another Civil Engineer Elected to Public Office

Last Saturday December 12th, civil engineer and member Stephen Costello beat real estate broker Karen Derr for the At-Large 1 city council seat for Houston, Texas.

Councilman-elect Costello ran a campaign focusing on investing in Houston. He wants to invest in the areas of public safety, drainage and roads, environmental quality and economic development. Of drainage and roads, Mr. Costello wants to create a dedicated funding source for roads and drainage and have resources allocated based on need. Overall, he wants to invest in a well-educated work force, public transportation and an infrastructure that can support growth.

Congratulations again to Mr. Stephen Costello. It is particularly gratifying when a member of our Society and profession is elected to public office.

The old URL for this blog will re-direct to the new site, but if you have a subscription feed, you will need to change it.

Our new blog software has a few more features and will let us post pictures and multimedia, so be sure to check it out.

So - Goodbye, old blog- thanks for all the memories!
