From NYC Department of Buildings: "Special Inspections replace Controlled Inspections on July 1, 2008. While there are substantial similarities between the 1968 Code’s Controlled Inspections and the 2008 Code’s Special Inspections, you will need to quickly familiarize yourself with the differences, including enhanced required qualifications and standards.
